Bengal Cat Diet _
The diet you provide for your Bengal cat plays a key role in ensuring your pet’s well-being and long, healthy life.
Bengal cats, like all domestic cats, are carnivores and benefit from a diet high in protein. To understand the optimal diet for Bengal cats, look to their wild ancestor, the Asian leopard cat, which primarily consumes meat such as birds, lizards, and insects.
Many commercial cat foods on the market contain fewer meat products and more grains like corn, rice, and soy to cut costs. Unfortunately, most Bengal cats struggle to digest these grains. Therefore, it is highly recommended to feed them grain-free, high-quality food. At Wild N Sweet Bengals, we provide our furry friends with “Go! Duck Recipe,” a grain-free food, to support their health.
RAW MEAT, IS IT A GOOD BENGAL CAT DIET?
A quality raw meat diet is the best and most natural option you can provide for your Bengal cat. From years of trying various types of dry food on multiple Bengal cats, we’ve observed that a raw meat diet is far better for the Bengal cat’s digestive system, as it is easier for them to process.
You can usually find frozen, pre-prepared, high-quality raw food at your local pet store. Some people also choose to prepare their own raw meals.
Adult Bengal cats who have never had raw meat may not take to it immediately, so it’s best to introduce raw food at an early age.
**IMPORTANT**
To avoid bacteria and potential issues for your Bengal cat, handle the meat with the same care as you would for yourself.
– Choose products manufactured with strict hygiene standards.
– Thawed meat should be used within 48 hours.
– Discard any leftover food that remains at room temperature for more than 1 hour.
WILD N SWEET BENGAL KITTENS DIET
At Wild N Sweet Bengals, we provide our Bengal kittens with a raw chicken meat recipe called “Simply Chicken” from “Faim Museau” twice a day. To enhance the flavor, we add a small amount (about 20%) of canned food to the raw meat mixture, which our Bengal kittens love and find easy to digest.
For our adult Bengal cats, we use the grain-free dry food “Go! Duck Recipe” alongside raw meat snacks of “Simply Chicken.” Combining these two high-quality foods ensures a balanced and optimal diet. This approach supports your Bengal cat’s overall health and can contribute to a longer lifespan.
